HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Filed under: General — meia on Sunday, October 31, 2004 @ 7:33 am

This weekend is turning out great. :D Last night we dressed up and went out with Tim & Aquarius, and we had a great time. We went to a bar and then we went and saw Team America (2wice for us, 1irst time for them) :D

I looked great…I did my eyes all glittery and did my lips like Frank from Rocky Horror…Dan looked awesome too. We had such trouble with his costume this year….he’s had four already!! The first one, a death row inmate, was too small, the second one, an old fashioned jailbird, was too small, the third one, Sherlock Holmes, didn’t work because the hat was too small for his head, but the one last night was perfect. We ended up buying this really awesome brown hat from the Costume Shop…it’s one of those 40’s detective hats. He wore it with a trench coat and a crooked tie, and had a plastic pipe and a toy gun for props. He looked totally awesome…actually I found it quite a turn-on.

I’ll post pics as soon as I can!! :D

A weird Halloween weekend…

Wow, I just found out tonight that the whole weekend is Halloween. At first that really bugged me…since I got Sunday night off for Halloween and they scheduled me Sunday morning instead. But it’s actually Saturday night that we’re going to be partying…so me working Sunday morning is going to be really shitty. :( I’m just really irritated that it’s working out that way because I just did what makes sense to me, but the whole world seems to think differently than me. Even Dan…I feel frustrated about it because it seemed obvious to him but never occured to me…so it’s not like I really even have a basis to complain, since I’m apparently the only person who thought holidays were celebrated on the day of the holiday. :?::!: WTF…

Anyway. I’ve got to get off of that. But the truth is, Dan’s celebrating Halloween with his office tomorrow, we’re celebrating Halloween together Saturday night, and I’m celebrating Halloween Sunday at work! So…I guess we’re not dressing up Sunday night…weird. Oh well, I guess it will give me time to work on my Samhain stuff. And kids will be trick or treating Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night! So we’d better get lots of candy! *drool* :P

I love it…

Dan’s Birthday!

Filed under: General — admin on @ 12:15 am

Awww, thanks Lauren, for your comment! I was going to tell him you said happy birthday tonight, but I forgot. :( If I forget to tell him tomorrow, hopefully he’ll read this at least! ;)

I always feel unsure about guy presents too…BUT…it helps that I work at a place that sells DVDs, CDs, and books…plus I got really nice discounts on everything! :) I just got him a shit-load of stuff (been slowly buying over a few weeks until the pile really built up) that he’s been wanting (and stuff that I thought he’d like).

A bunch of Bruce Springsteen CDs, because he has all his tapes and hardly any CDs (he was really into Bruce when he was a teen so it’s sort of nostalgic for him)…Modest Mouse’s CD and Jet’s CD. Also the South Park DVD :) and a desk calendar that has a different paper airplane to make every day. (When he was a kid he was into airplanes and I like to encourage play…hehe) And lastly, a bunch of books by some of his favorite people…Doonesbury cartoons, Jon Stewart’s new book America, and a book of Bruce Springsteen lyrics.

I also blew up a whole bunch of balloons and filled his office with them. (His home office, not his work office)

I had soooooo much fun collecting everything for him!! We went out to dinner tonight to Asiago’s and had some YUMMY food!!! I had shrimp fettucine in five cheeses. *drool* And we shared espresso créme bruleé for dessert. Then we came home and watched South Park. YAY! I love that movie; it’s so hilarious.

It’s so weird to think that he’s only just 23. LOL I kept thinking he was going to be 24 this year but I was wrong….

Anyway. He’s awesome.

I’m so damn excited

Yayy, Wednesday is Dan’s birthday!! I’m so freaking excited…yay, yay, yay…and I can’t even talk about it here! We are going to go out to lunch and dinner, though.

I had a really fun night at work tonight. Everybody was just in really good moods and all hyper…Rachael was being hilarious… I’d never seen her that hyper before! LOL! After work I drove her home and we hung out at her house for a while, drinking tea and just talking about random shit. It rocked.

Dan bought Marie Calendar’s pumpkin pie yesterday! Mmmmmm…I love pumpkin pie.

Hmm. I think I want some hot chocolate now.

OK, I finally finished the damn book. Here is my list of cringeworthy lines:

Dollar bills appeared in hands like mushrooms after a rain.

His laughter followed me out into the night, like velvet rubbing along my spine.

His mind held me like velvet steel.

Curiosity killed the vampire.

I felt her staring at me, like an ice cube sliding down my spine.

She had washed over my mind like the ocean in a seashell.

The voice thudded over me, hot enough to scald.

He fluttered his hand at me like a trapped bird.

We turned and started running like we were attached by wires.

The smell of fresh brewed coffee made me want to chew the couch.

The grass was tall as an elephant’s eye, but not half so beautiful.

There was no air conditioning in the hallway, and the heat was like chest-high fur, thick and warm…the smell of pine scented Lysol was thick and almost nauseating in the small, dark hallway. You could probably had eaten off the carpeting if you had wanted to, but you would have gotten fuzzies in your mouth. No amount of Lysol could get rid of carpet fuzzies.

He shrugged, a massive movement like mountains hiccuping.

He looked like he had just come from Leather ‘R’ Us.

His courage seemed to have spilled out on the grass.

A chill tiptoed along my spine.

His presence filled the small room like invisible water, chilling and prickling along my skin, knee-deep and rising.

His power oozed over my arms like a cold wave.

His voice was an abused whisper.

The pulse in his throat jumped under his skin like it was trying to escape.

I struggled, but his fingers were welded to my skull, a part of me.

Goosebumps marched up my arms.

I could taste my heart in my throat.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but bullets will never hurt me.”

So there you have it! LOL

I really need to go to bed, and I don’t wanna. I thought maybe if I posted a good night picture I would get the hint. ;)

Good night. ***kisses for everyone***
