This is a sketch of anthro versions of my Neopets. Drowsyful, Plookies, Flitterbye, and Squirmyone. I’ve been practicing drawing them a lot the past few days.

I’ve been sick the past couple of days, so I’ve been drawing the whole time…

I really love the shading on this one, but I’m not too happy with her giant huge head that makes her look like a little girl, or the overly beatific expression on her face. Oh well…the next one will be better. :)

And the Scores are In!

Filed under: General — admin on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 @ 10:46 pm

I got my SAT scores!

Critical Reading 730 97%
Math 530 53%
Writing 640
Multiple Choice 62 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 9 (score range: 2-12)

I’m kind of tired so I’m sort of in a daze, but Dan assures me that those are national percentiles…I can’t believe I’m better than 97% of test-takers in Critical Reading…that just sort of blows my mind.

The national percentiles for the Writing section won’t be available until Fall. *eagerly awaits with beady eyes*

I Forgot to Mention…

…about the box of chocolates Dan got me…that there are about ten different pieces, most of them truffles (my favorite!!), and they’re arranged in a heart shaped box MADE OUT OF CHOCOLATE. Oh, yes. Made out of chocolate. *drooool* :P

Do You Have Accurate Knowledge of Where Your Hand Is?

Who would have ever thought that “Meia” and “math tutor” would be used in the same sentence? Well, when the girl sitting next to me in math saw my last exam score, she begged me to help her out. : ) So yesterday after class we went to Tully’s Coffee and I helped her with decimals. After a while, it was sort of like the blind leading the blind, because our brains started frying at the same time. But she said it really helped. I’m just sort of amazed that I’m actually helping someone else with their math.

I’ve been doing really well in that class though. We’ve done two exams, and I scored top of the class on both. (102% on the first one, 98% on the last one.)

I hope everyone had a happy Valentine’s Day. This is really funny; I bought a new shirt at Ross to wear to dinner last night, and a few days after I bought it, I happened to notice that the tag said “maternity”. LOL, I hope that wasn’t prophetic! Anyway, I got Dan a Suicide Girls book and he got me a box of chocolates from the amazing chocolate shop, Dilettante’s. And another lovely gift which shall remain nameless. ;) We went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant that wasn’t too great, and way too noisy inside. But we had a really nice time anyway.

I’ve been spending more time with Cady, which has been wonderful. We’re trying to make it at least semi-monthly, if not weekly, thing, to go out just the two of us, plus our other new friend, Chrissy. We were going to go out tonight, but Cady’s a bit swamped, unfortunately. But we did get to go out last week, which was totally refreshing.

My car is getting smushed. I scraped the side of it against a wall in a parking garage the other day, and someone has backed into it and broke one of the turn signals, which is hanging out of its socket now. Poor Eddy. It’s a mess!

It’s also been sunny every day for, like, a week now. It’s really pretty.

A Little Ventilation

I haven’t written anything personal in a while. I suppose it’s about time for an update…

My Jhudora pic didn’t make it into the Neopets gallery, which really pissed me off. Today was my 2nd math exam, and I got a question wrong because I couldn’t read the teacher’s writing, which pisses me off.

I’m kind of in a pissy mood today, in case you can’t tell. Heh.

Yesterday morning, around nine twenty (10 mins before my alarm went off, and after Dan had left for work, I was awakened to the sound of people yelling and running through my apartment. I was too groggy to move, and finally, after silence ensued, I decided I must have dreamt it. Later my landlord rang the doorbell and asked to inspect the apartment, because apparently there had been a smell of smoke and the fire department was running through the building looking for the cause. Apparently too many people have objects too close to the baseboards, because they couldn’t find anything else wrong. It was embarrassing, because we’re still not finished putting things away and we haven’t taken a bunch of stuff down to storage yet. But the whole thing just felt surreal.

I’m surprised that it didn’t freak me out to hear people running in my apartment. If that had happened anyplace I lived in Boise, I would have had a heart attack and ended up hiding in my blankets for an hour. I didn’t feel uncomfortable until last night, when I got into bed. I started feeling anxious, and kept thinking about what would happen if the building caught on fire, what if the main hallway was blocked, then what? Well, I’d pretty much have to jump out of the window. Would I rather be burned or fall? I think I’d rather fall. I’m not sure. I’d rather not decide right now! Oh, wait, there’s a tree near the house! Maybe if I took a flying leap, I could land on one of the fronds. At least break my fall a little bit. Ouch. What if I was naked? That would hurt. But I’m sure it wouldn’t be as bad as being burned alive. Blechh.

I was really worried about getting to school on time today for my exam. I got there in plenty of time though. But it was hard to keep calm. And then that stupid math problem. GAH, I know I would have done it right if she had written it better. Her multiplication symbols look like minuses. The answer kept coming out negative, and I know that’s wrong because we haven’t started negative numbers yet. So I’m really frustrated about that. On my first exam I got 102%, and I was really hoping for another perfect score. Oh well. It’s still going to be an A.

Dan is off seeing a thing about Truman Capote. I was going to go with him, actually, I was going to go hang out with Cady, but she has to study for a big test, and I just felt like chilling out here by myself this evening.

Well, it’s time to break out the ice cream! (mmmm…Haagen Daas Baileys Irish Cream…)
