Yay!!

Yay! I got my Wacom in the mail today. I have an art tablet!

For any of you who might not know what that is, it’s a yummy little piece of hardware, a thin slab of silvery metal, with an area that corresponds to the computer screen, and a little pen-like tool you can use to draw on the computer with. Much like when you sign your name on those little screens after using your credit card. Except you can use the pen just like a regular mouse for anything. And you don’t have to unplug your mouse to use it…it’s USB so after you install it you just plug it in and unplug it and take go take it somewhere else if you want to…

Anyway. Most of you probably know what it is and are laughing at my description of it. In any case, I am fucking excited to be using this, because this means no more hand-cramps while drawing with the mouse! This means I can draw in the evenings and on weekends when Dan is using his computer, because I can hook this up to my laptop! So I’m ecstatic.

By the way, I’ve finally set up a DeviantArt account. I haven’t put anything up there that I haven’t put up here…not yet, anyway, but I’m really getting addicted to the website. I love browsing through everyone’s art and adding to my favorites. You can browse through my favorite art from my page, too. Here’s the link: My DeviantArt There’s also a link under “About Me” on the right.

I’ve got to find Ratboy’s Deviant ID… they don’t have easy-to-use search mechanisms there.

AND, I’d better get my homework done. It’s been a beautiful day in sunny 70-degree Seattle. All silver and blue and smelling like flowers. *happy sigh*

God, I love Engrish…

A Lesson in Geography

I was (un?)fortunate enough to witness this conversation on Gaia today…

“Where do you live?”
“Tulsa, OK.”
“Tulsa? Where’s that?”
“Where do you live and I will tell you.”
“OK…I live in Washington”
“Which one.”
“not DC. By California.”
“Where in Washington? City.”
“Spokane.”
“Is that a city?”
“Yes. Where is Tulsa?”
“I don’t know about that.”
“About what?”
“In Oklahoma.”
“oh.”

I don’t know, maybe it’s not as funny as it sounded to me at the time, but it made me laugh, anyway. ^_^

Bleh!

Wow, too much planning is emotionally exhausting. XP

Earlier today I went on a mini shopping spree. My first shopping spree since I moved. YAY! There’s a really cute shop called Crossroads Trading Company, and people my age trade in or sell their old clothes there. So there are LOTS of hip clothes for cheap. I got, like, fourteen shirts or something. Most of my shirts don’t fit anymore, so I got a lot of really comfy shirts I can layer if I want to, that are long enough to cover my crack if my pants fall down too far. (Heh. I’m like my dad these days.) Lots of super-comfy cuteness will be going on with me!

We went to Brian’s house for a little housewarming party thing. It was really cool. We met some other ex-JWs who totally rocked, and shared lots of funny and sad stories. It’s interesting, the instant bond that goes on between ex-JWs. We’ve all been through the same thing. And because all the JWs all over the place are exactly the same, just like Wal-Mart, we all can relate to each other.

I’m trying to find the fine line between organzing my life and enjoying my life. I can’t seem to do both at the same time. :P I’m either … doing nothing around the house and enjoying myself, only to feel guilty when I know Dan’s going to be disappointed that nothing got done, or trying to get a handle on my house with flylady or something and feeling shitty about it the whole time. When I work I feel angry and resentful, not really toward anything. I just feel really low emotionally when I clean, and I often cry while working. But I’m not happy living in a mess, either. So I’m just really trying to figure out how to feel positive about getting stuff done. Sometimes I feel good when I’m done, and sometimes I just feel bitter and angry. So I’ve got to figure that out. Even flylady’s fifteen minutes a day seems to stretch forever ahead of me into agonizingly painful drudgery.

If ever you’re bored and want to look at all the people who take my breath away with their beauty, take a look at the links I’ve added to pages of my most beautiful men and women. The links are under the “Pages” category on the top right. They were very fun to make, though time consuming. :P

Survey 23 (firsts and lasts)

I got this quiz from my friend Jessica…

First real best friend: Kathy Scroggins

First school: Collister Elementary

First Cell phone: it was a Nokia!

First funeral: Funerals never really made an impression on me…I don’t remember. When you’re a JW they’re just like meetings, except some people are crying.

First pet: Liquorice the black cat that ran away from home to escape my squeezy grabby little girl hands and find its original owners.

First heartbreak: Randy Abel. UGHhh..why in the world..he was a COWBOY, for god’s sake.

First piercing/tattoo: First piercing, my ears. First tattoo, my little belly star. Want more of both, though. ;)

First big trip: Probably the California/Arizona/Nevada/Utah drive we went on when I was 12.

First flight: When I was 16, to Seattle :)

First celebrity love: Bruce Springsteen. LOL!

First time out of the country: When I was 25, we went up to Victoria, Canada

First job: Took care of babies at the Creative Children’s Center

First MySpace friend?: Dan, actually, but we only joined because Cady made us.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR LASTS:

Last person you hugged: Dan

Last car ride: To pick Dan up from the bus stop because he was on the wrong bus route

Last time you cried: This morning, when I was listening to Pavement Cracks by Annie Lennox

Last movie you watched: Capote. <3

Last person of the opposite sex that you talked to: Dan

Last item bought: A math textbook, woo!

Last phone call: Dan

Last text message: Rachael in Boise

Last thing you touched: This laptop?

Last Funeral: My great-gramma, Hazel Fuller

Last time at the mall: A week or two ago, I think. A week ago.

Last time you were excited: Today. Learning is fun!

Last person you saw: *looks at Dan* Dan.

Last thing you drank: water

Last time you said you were sorry: On the way home from the bustop. I was apologizing because I went to pick him up but forgot to take my cell phone, and couldn’t find him, so I had to drive back home and get it and then go find him again. LOL

Last Time you truly missed someone: This morning. Pavement Cracks always reminds me of leaving the JWs and brings back that aching empty hollow feeling of everything slipping away.

I Love April Fools’ on the Internet ^_^
