Memorial Day Weekend
Last night we got back from a mini-vacation in which we saw Nine Inch Nails perform near Portland, OR. They were awesome. Bauhaus was playing with them, which we didn’t enjoy as much, and the opening band was TV on the Radio. They were also awesome. ^_^
After that we went and visited our buddies Jon and Stacey in Portland and spent the day touring wine country. We had so much fun. We drove home last night and are enjoying a nice extra day. Dan is getting some things done he’s been putting off, and I slept in til 11:30 and am not sure what I’m going to be doing later.
There are less boats out on the lake than I thought there’d be. Of course, the weekend is chillier than most people planned, I think. ^_^
Did I mention that most of our CDs were stolen out of our car a few weeks ago? I was tearfully upset, because that included **ALL** of my David Bowie. But we found out that it’s covered under our renter’s insurance, so we’ll probably be able to buy them all again. So that’s a big relief!
I’m working on a journal of our Portland trip. When I’m finished coloring it, I’ll post it here and you’ll be able to see it. ^_^
Girls-Girls-Girls Contest Entry
On DeviantArt, I joined a club for girls who love to draw girls. The first contest is to design a mascot, and this is my entry…it’s inspired by the Greek myth of Pygmalion, who fell in love with his sculpture, which was then brought to life by Aphrodite, who took pity on him. Obviously, these are both girls. XD

Blue hair success!!! After five hours of inhaling bleach/dye fumes…
It’ll fade much too fast. But at least I got my hair bleached enough this time so that when the blue fades out I can just re-dye it instead of re-bleaching it and re-dying it. XP It will probably be a few days and then it will be the perfect sky blue. Right now it’s too bright for my tastes, but I LOVE IT! It’s BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally one student had had enough and asked why his classmate couldn’t say things so other people could understand him. Without missing a beat the student shot back “Because I don’t speak retard!” My immediate reaction was that the entire school year had been an elaborate set up for that punchline.
I was recently at the hairdresser on a very rainy day. As it had been raining consistently for what seemed like weeks, I made a joke to my hairdresser about going home to build an ark. She proceeded to ask me what an ark was. I told her (hopefully w/out sounding condescending) it was like a boat, you know, Noah’s Ark, haha? She proceeded to tell me that she had never read or seen Noah’s Ark (I’m assuming she meant a movie about Noah’s Ark; apparently the Academy also missed that one.) Anyway, after an awkward silence, the hairdresser working next to her the entire time said to me, “And you’re going home to build one?”
A few days ago, a couple of friends and I were talking and our conversation verged toward weather. (I’m a terrible conversationalist, I know, but I compensate by blaming other people.) My boss came in and said “Every time I go outside I’m cold, but I don’t know why.”
