I wonder if Tibalt’s nickname was ever “Tibbles”.

We finally got a dishwasher this weekend. We’re so happy. Hehe, after they “installed” it (it is a portable dishwasher, so they showed us how to hook it up to the sink, and even lengthened the hoses so we wouldn’t have to wheel it into the kitchen whenever we wanted to run it. Which would have sucked, because there is no way to get past it to the fridge if it’s in the middle of the kitchen, unless we were to climb over it.) Dan and I just sat on the couch and stared at it, taking turns sighing “Yay” with a sense of relief.

Yesterday started a heatwave in Seattle…and today is also going to be ninety degrees. -_- We went to buy an air conditioner at Lowe’s last night, but there was so much stupidity on their part (promising so many things that were either not true or only half true) that we almost went to Sears. But we’d read so many things about the superiority of Lowe’s air conditioners that we had to keep reminding ourselves that it’s going to be worth it. We’ll just have to wait two weeks or so. Hopefully we won’t melt in the meantime. bleh.

This is the coolest thing. My buddy Cady is researching the potential for robots to help autistic children get better. In the lab where she works she gets to play with an AIBO! Tonight we spent the evening together and when we went by her lab I got to play with it. Here are a couple of pics. It is the cutest, neatest thing. I like it a lot better than real dogs.

It likes to play with Cady’s balls. It will walk up to them and kick them with its little foot. And if it gets “frustrated”, it head butts it. XD It has a little pressure pad on its forehead that you’re supposed to stroke to send it messages that its good, and if you tap it hard it means ‘bad dog’. It gave me five several times and wagged its tail lots. Once I made it mad by moving the ball right when he was about to kick it. (Green lights on his head means he’s happy, red lights means he’s mad.) His lights turned red and he turned around and sat with his back to me. XD So cute. I might post a couple of more pics tomorrow. Cady took a couple of more pictures but they were too many to email to me at once.

Hey, I dyed my hair pink today! Yay!

Yay! I finally got my nose pierced today! I’m so happy with it; it’s exactly the way I wanted it. It was done by a really cool girl in my math class, too. ^_^
