For some odd reason I thought this website didn’t work anymore. I’ve been refraining from posting here because I thought comments were broken. XD Apparently, it still works fine. LOL
Well, I’ve been in the mood to update more often. I’m not sure what to update about, but that doesn’t matter so much.
I need to update all of my links and categories.
Alyssa has been updating her journal today, which makes me happy. I love reading about her, knowing what’s going on in any way I can.
Dan and I had a really great Christmas. It was better than the previous ones…I was worried that it would be lonely, since Cady moved to Penn State, but it wasn’t. I cooked all day! I made baked eggs and gingerbread pancakes for breakfast; pear, gorgonzola, and watercress sandwiches for lunch with apple sausage; cornish game hens for dinner with buttermilk biscuits and salad with warm goat cheese; and chocolate pots de creme for dessert. We drank a bottle of champagne with breakfast and lunch and almost a whole bottle of wine for dinner. The next morning we were driving down to the Oregon coast so we didn’t actually get to relax in the evening as much as we would have liked. I haven’t uploaded our tree pics yet, but when I do, I’ll post them. Well I uploaded one before we put the presents under it. Dan bought me a gift certificate to this store downtown…every time we walk by it I drool at the windows at all the beautiful clothes, so I’m excited.
I’m starting my second semester as a sophomore. I finally am getting into an art class. Intro to drawing, look out! LOL. My friend Paula gave me a bunch of sketch pads.
This afternoon Dan and I went and saw a matinee of Beethoven’s 9th symphony. I hadn’t listened to the first three movements in years. They were much more beautiful than I’d remembered.
I remember my Grandpa Sallee saying that the first movement is the best, and after today’s performance, Dan and I both agree.
Tonight we had dinner at a really delicious Mexican restaurant…very authentic, covering several different regions of Mexico. I had some seared beef with refried beans and cojita cheese, a very fresh avocado and tomato salsa (big pieces you can eat with a fork), and tortillas in a chile verde sauce topped with chunks of cojita. The salad I got beforehand was watercress, radish, and jicama, and for dessert I had a white milk cake which was sweet and very light and yummy.
I have two weeks of vacation left before my next quarter starts. I still have a list of things I want to get done…
Clean up the house and put everything away
Get my astronomy book
Get a new phone
Spend my gift certificate
Finish my scarf
Order more artwork for the walls
Put away decorations (after the 1st)
Talk to apt. manager about switching storage spaces
Put fans in storage
Redecorate a bit (fabrics and candles)
Write to Mom & Dad
Reply to emails
Dye hair (purple?)
Uhhh…that’s plenty for now. XD Right now I should plan what to make for dinner tomorrow night. :3
